10:00am-10:50am daily virtual classes
In this online camp, kids will learn what 3D Modeling and 3D Printing are used for and how to use Tinkercad (a free, web-based program for 3D modeling) to create 3-Dimensional designs.
Each learner will get their own account in Tinkercad. Each day, we will be working on a few beginner projects together to get to know the program’s interface and features, as well as basic and essential skills for 3D modeling. Learners will watch the instructor build each project step-by-step, with time in between each step to build-in their own projects and ask questions. There will be time for creativity and flexibility in each project and class. Learners will also discuss how to find a place to 3D print their designs from this class. Learners will leave this class with the skills to design their own unique models and creations!
Any age is welcome, but participants should already be comfortable using a mouse or trackpad, as this camp involves a lot of clicking and dragging to create designs. Tinkercad can be accessed on a PC, Mac, iPad, Chromebook or any other type of notebook computer; smartphones are not recommended. When possible, laptops/computers are preferred to iPads.
