“Badge Up” nola

skills-building tech programs for ages 10 and up

Blue Collar Jobs are now digital New Collar Jobs, providing well-paying, engaging career paths that can build and strengthen our communities. Digital Badges certify skills for New Collar Jobs across industries.

Beginning November 2020, the WorkChops NOLA project launches tech training classes in partnership with the New Collar Network, The Fab Lab at WorkChops, and NOLA’s own, Level Up Campaign

The training pipeline is skill-specific, short in length, and free to learners, opening doors for everyone!

Learners will earn stackable digital mini badges that they will learn to control and display to others to prove their knowledge. Learners who complete all nine days and a final project will receive a “Master Badge” in the tech content they master. There is room for growth, too, over the coming years; we will enable interested learners to build up “digital wallets” full of their verifiable skills.

Class Time:  10:00am – 3:00pm

Class Dates:  Nov. 23-25 & Dec. 21-23, 28-30

Location:  Ninth Ward NENA, 1123 Lamanche Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

Classes in Nov/Dec are free to people aged ten to 18 years old. Learners must preregister. Message Joe Elloie to reserve your spot: joseph@workchops.org
